We are a foster based rescue, not a shelter. All of our dogs are in foster care in Tennessee but we transport to other areas including Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut. We cannot adopt to residents of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire.

Only submit an application if you are ready to adopt now and if your entire household is on board. Processing applications is very time consuming and we have very few volunteers.

I understand that Goofy Foot Dog Rescue is a foster-based rescue in TENNESSEE. Transport is available to Middle TN, VA, MD, PA, NJ, and CT. Dogs will only be transported once their adoptions are finalized. *

I understand that Goofy Foot Dog Rescue cannot adopt to residents of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire due to state regulations. *

I understand that Goofy Foot Dog Rescue does not DNA test their dogs. The breed(s) listed in the dog's bio is an educated guess by our licenced veterinarian and/or Goofy Foot volunteers. *

I have read the above information carefully and have filled out this application honestly. I understand that omission of information and/or failure to answer all questions and sign the application can result in this application being declined. Also, if an omission or untruth is discovered after an adoption takes place, I understand that Goofy Foot Dog Rescue reserves the right to annul the adoption and reclaim the animal. I give Goofy Foot Dog Rescue and it’s Officers permission to fully investigate the information provided as well as contact veterinarians and related officials. If the application passes this review, I agree to a phone interview before a final decision is made. If for any reason the adopter cannot take care of or fails to provide adequate care (vetting, food, shelter) to the dog Goofy Foot Dog Rescue has the right to reclaim the dog. *

If the adopter decides to give up the adopted dog, he/she must contact GFDR to make arrangements prior to doing so. Under no circumstances shall the dog be placed on Craigslist or given away to any organization or individual without written permission from Goofy Foot Dog Rescue (this includes but not limited to other rescue organizations, humane societies etc.) *

If the adopter decides he/she wants to return the adopted dog to Goofy Foot Dog Rescue, the adoption fee will not be refunded. *

Please note that due to the overwhelming amount of applications we receive, we are not able to respond to or interview every applicant. Just because you do not receive an email or phone call regarding the dog you applied for does not mean that your application was not approved. It simply means another applicant was selected for that dog. Applying for a dog does not guarantee adoption. *
